Animal Licensing

State law requires that all dogs aged four months or older be licensed.  Residents of Southfield Township (including Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms and Franklin) must purchase licenses for their dogs each year.  The license for 2016 will be a full 2016 year license.  It will be available at the Township Office beginning December 1, 2015 and will expire on December 31, 2016.  A license cannot be issued for a time period longer than one month beyond the expiration of the dog’s rabies vaccination certification.  Therefore, if your dog’s certification will expire earlier than November 30, 2016, it will be necessary for you to obtain a new vaccination before obtaining the license.

Licenses for 2016 will be available through March 31, 2016 for a fee of $5.00.  After March 31st, the fee will be $10.00.
Licenses for new dogs issued on or after July 1, 2016 will be $2.50.

Licenses may also be obtained by mail.  Please include proof of rabies vaccination and a check payable to:  Southfield Township.
Your proof of rabies vaccination will be returned to you.

Residents of Beverly Hills must also obtain licenses for their cats.
There is no charge for this, but a current rabies certificate is required.
Cat licenses are available at the Township Office as well.
